Introduction
This is an introduction to the Vocations of Lord of the Rings Online. Vocations are mix of professions. Mostly a single vocation is self sustaining, not requiring much else from other vocations. There is a rare occasion where you may need something from another profession that is unavailable to you; but most of the time you will find your vocation can support itself easily.
Below is a list of the current vocations available to you, and their respective professions.
Armourer
The Armourer provides shields, and various types of Armour. The Prospector allows them to harvest and refine ores. The Metalsmith allows them to create sturdy shields as well as impressive heavy Armours for Guardians, Champions, and Captains. The Tailor allows them to create cloth Armours for everyone else.
Note: The Armourer cannot boil hides to make leather for the Tailoring profession.
Professions that this vocation uses: Prospector | Metalsmith |Tailor
Armsman
The Armsman provides weapons for every occasion. The Weaponsmith allows them to create Swords, Axes, and various metal weapons. While the Woodworker allows them to create bows, staffs, and spears. The Prospector allows them to harvest and refine ore for them to use with the Weaponsmith profession.
Note: The Armsman cannot harvest wood to make weapons for the Woodworker Profession. They must buy it.

Explorer
The Explorer are able Tailors, allowing them to craft both light and medium Armours. With their foresting skills they can boil hides for their Tailoring skills, as well as harvest and refine wood for Woodworkers. They also have the Prospector profession this allows them to harvest and refine ores that would usually be sold by the explorer in return for a fair profit.
Note: The Explorer is a good choice for a player that is not into crafting, but still wants to make currency from harvesting as they explore.

Historian
The Historian is a master of ancient artifacts and stories. They seek out such artifacts to study and increase their knowledge. This advanced knowledge enabled them to craft amazing metal weapons. The Farmer profession allows them to harvest food and ingredients for Cooks, as well as harvesting pipeweed for some entertaining emotes.
Note: The Historian needs to buy ore for their weapon crafting.
Professions that this vocation uses: Scholar | Farmer | Weaponsmith
Tinkerer
The Tinkerer. They create small but fine items. Since they are Jewelers they can create very beautiful and helpful jewelry. The Prospector allows them to harvest and refine their own ore. The Cook allows them to create food for other purposes.
Note: The Tinkerer requires ingredients from Farmers to create their food.
Professions that this vocation uses: Jeweler | Prospector |Cook
Woodsman
The Woodsman. The vocation of choice for a lot of hunters. The reason for this is because the Forester is very capable of harvesting and working wood. While the Woodsman allows them to create fine bows, staffs, and spears. The Farmer allows them harvest ingredients for Cooks, and pipeweed for entertaining emotes.
Note: The Woodsman is largely self sustaining and does not require anything from other classes for their craft.
Professions that this vocation uses: Woodworker | Forester | Farmer
Yeoman
The Yeoman are ideal for players who are looking to create a meal for their friends. With the Farmer they can harvest ingredients. With the Cook they can form these ingredients into food that will help their allies as well as themselves. The Tailor allows them to create medium and light armours.
Note: The Yeoman requires boiled hides from a Forester to create items from their Tailor profession.
