The Captain is a slick class. When you think of captain, you should be thinking of Aragorn. Using 2 handers, and buffing allies in a unique way they are super fun.

Captain Guide

The Captains are the leaders of Lord of the Rings Online. They lead their allies into battle, and direct them while doing battle. They are capable of sustaining the group, and buffing the group in a very unique way (more on this later).

Lets start with the Captains melee, and tanking abilities. The captain relies largely on 2 hander weapons. They do not seem to dual wield. The 2 handed weapons are used for damaging enemies, and killing them rather quickly. I suspect that the 1 hander can be used with a shield to do some tanking.

When it comes down to it, the captain is capable of tanking, but not quite as good as the guardian.

The Captain buffs its allies DURING battle, not before or after. The way this works: After defeating an enemy a 10 or 15 second timer is started, while this timer is ticking away you have a chance to cast 1 buff. Buffs can consist of duration heals (Rallying Cry), or attack speed buffs (War-Cry). There are several other buffs, but those are just examples.

You can also direct your allies with various abilities. These abilities allow you to mark a target, the marked target will take substantially more damage. With increased damage to targets will encourage your teammates to kill whatever you mark.

Summary

Lets wrap it up: The Captains are a lot of fun. One of my personal favorite classes. In summary, the Captain: Is Melee, uses 2 handed attacks for damage. They can buff with war-cry type buffs between kills. And they can direct teammates to attack specific enemies with various marking abilities. They can wear medium and heavy armor.
