Burglar Guide

Burglars are the shady bunch of Lord of the Rings Online. They live in the shadow and land devastating surprise attacks. The burglar has several different types of abilities, which I will get into detail later; but lets talk about the combat ability of the burglar.

The burglar starts off with a standard flank attack which will get boosted damage if you attack from behind or sneaking. Well you do not get sneak until level 4, so your only option is to attack from behind to get the extra damage. This attack works even if you do not sneak or flank, but it will not get extra damage.

The burglar also starts off with a bleeding move which damages the opponent over time. This is useful for sustaining damage. You generally do not have to use this attack more than once a fight, unless you are fighting some sort of boss creature.

The burglar also gets a very fast reuse special attack which gets just a little bit more damage than the base damage of the weapon. This is useful for keeping up fast attacks.

Later in levels you get a attack speed “debuff”; which will slow your enemies attack speed and damage output by 10% each. This is very useful, and use of it is nearly vital. You also get an evade ability which will allow you to dodge 50% of incoming attacks for 30 seconds.

The burglar wears the light armor initially, then progresses to medium armor. They also get about the same HP as the champion. They are capable of taking a few hits, but nothing compared to a guardian or even a captain.

Summary

Lets wrap it up: The burglar is capable of very substantial damage, at the same time they are also useful for slowing and lowering the damage of an enemy. The burglar can sneak, and use surprise attacks, as well as damage over time attacks. With the evade ability you can live through quite a bit of trouble.
